Ljubljana, 8 April 2008 – The delegation of the European Jewish Congress (EJC) was on a working visit to Slovenia from 7 to 9 April 2008. During the three-day visit the EJC delegation had an Executive meeting met Slovenia's leading representative sand.
The EJC high representatives comprising EJC President Dr. Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor, EJC Secretary General Serge Cwajgenbaum, EJC Vice President and Vice President of the British Jewish Community Flo Kaufmann, President of the Portuguese Jewish Community Jose Bensaude Oulman Carp, Secretary General of the European Jewish Foundation Arie Zuckerman and Secretary General of the Jewish Community in the Netherlands Ruben E.Vis, joined the IFIMES International Institute representatives for an official dinner. On the part of IFIMES the dinner was attended by Directors Zijad Bećirović and Bakhtyar Aljaf as well as by members of the IFIMES Council Janez Škrabec and Dr. Milan Jazbec. At the dinner, the EJC delegation presented the purpose of their visit to Slovenia, paying special attention to Slovenia's EU presidency and to fight against different types of increasing extremism in Europe and in the world, especially xenophobia and antisemitism. EJC representatives stressed that with its activities the IFIMES International Institute can make an important contribution to this fight. The dinner was attended also by President of the Jewish Community of Slovenia Professor Andrej Kožar Beck.
