PRESS RELEASE
SARAJEVO, 15 June 2011 - Vice-President of the Council of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) and the first U. S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Victor Jackovich was awarded today an honorary doctor title of the University of Sarajevo, which was presented to him by professor Faruk Čaklovica, PhD, Chancellor of the University of Sarajevo.
Ambassador Jackovich was the US ambassador during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has received the highest national awards of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was named the honorary citizen of Sarajevo 2001.
