organised in memory of Professor Dr. Stane Vlaj
entitled
The strategy of Slovenian local government
which will be held on Monday 23 March 2015 at 16.00 h
in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.
In numerous European countries the changes in the social, political and economic spheres have triggered local community transformation processes in order to deal more efficiently with local tasks and some tasks delegated from the state. These processes are based on the connection between the territorial changes and the substantive issues, especially such as good governance for the benefit of the citizens. The starting points prepared by the Ministry of Public Administration will serve as the basis for the discussion on the substantive solutions pertaining to the future strategy for the development of local government in the Republic of Slovenia.
The round table is dedicated to our late colleague and friend Dr. Stane Vlaj, the long-standing head of the Department for Local and Regional Studies (DeLORS) of the IFIMES International Institute.
Those and other issues will be discussed by the following experts:
● Prof. Dr. Albin Igličar, retired professor of sociology of law at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana
● Prof. Dr. Marjan Ravbar, retired university professor
● Prof. Dr. Franc Grad, professor at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana and former constitutional court judge
● Dr. Miloš Senčur, assistant professor of public administration at Graduate School of Government and European Studies and secretary of the Association of Slovene Municipalities
The round table will be held in the Slovenian language and moderated by Zijad Bećirović.
