Russia: The key to (in)stability in the Balkans and the Middle East

which will be held on Thursday, 16 April 2015, at 16.00 h

in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.

Ever since Vladimir Putin has been at the head of Russia, his country has gradually regained its position in the global political scene. Recent events in Ukraine have revealed enormous disparities between Russia and the West. Russia's role in the Balkans and the Middle East is important and will be even more important in the future. Russia has actually become the key to (in)stability in the Balkans and the Middle East.

Those and other issues will be discussed by the following experts:

• Dr. Klemen Grošelj, an expert in defense studies and geopolitics,
• Jelko Kacin, formerMember of the European Parliament (MEP) (ALDE),
• Andrej Stopar, a journalist and long-standing Russia correspondent for the RTV Slovenia,   
• Bakhatyar Aljaf, IFIMES

The round table will be held in the Slovenian language and moderated by Zijad Bećirović.
