Rector of the University of Tuzla visits IFIMES
LJUBLJANA, 19 September 2013 – Directors of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) from Ljubljana Bakhatyar Aljaf and Zijad Bećirović today received Rector of the University of Tuzla professor Dr. Enver Halilović.
IFIMES directors presented the activities of the Institute and its projects carried out in the Middle East and the Balkans, notably in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries in the Middle East such as Iraq and Kuwait that pose opportunities for co-operation with the University of Tuzla in various fields, especially in technical and engineering sciences.
Dr. Halilović, who currently chairs the Alpe-Adria universities network, presented the University of Tuzla and its activities that are targeted at further integrating his University in the broader European framework. He noted that possibilities for co-operation with Iraq and Kuwait should be examined thoroughly in order to find appropriate solutions for the presence of the University of Tuzla in those countries.
During the lengthy conversation they exchanged views on the possibilities for co-operation between the University of Tuzla and the IFIMES International Institute and agreed to continue discussions on co-operation in the near future. They also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on co-operation between the two institutions.
At the end Dr. Halilović invited the delegation from the IFIMES International Institute to visit the University of Tuzla and IFIMES Directors accepted the invitation with pleasure.
