The lecture will be delivered by Israel's Ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia, His Excellency Dan Ashbel. Ambassador Ashbel is Israel's non-residential Ambassador to Slovenia with the head office in Vienna. Having obtained his degree in geography and English language he started his professional diplomatic career at Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1975. For his master's degree in political science he studied the topic of the Middle East. He performed various responsible functions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (e.g. head of the analytical sector, head of the sector for the European multilateral organisations, Israel's co-ordinator to Evromed etc.) and served in Germany, Austria, Great Britain and the USA. Since 2005 he is Israel's Ambassador to OSCE, UNOV and UNIDO and since 2006 Israel's non-residential Ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia.
The lecture will be given in the English language. The lecture will be followed by a discussion which will be moderated by Bakhtyar Aljaf and Dr. Milan Jazbec.
