“LECTURE AND DISCUSSION WITH THE EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER DR. JANEZ POTOČNIK”
which will be held on 8 May 2009 at 11.30 h in the auditorium of Center Evropa at Dalmatinova 4 in Ljubljana.
The European Commissioner for Science and Research
Dr. Janez Potočnik will deliver a lecture on
“SCIENCE AND RESEARCH – THE CORNERSTONE OF DEVELOPMENT IN THE EUROPEAN UNION”.
Commissioner Potočnik will focus on topics such as the challenges of the current financial and economic crisis and its consequences for the scientific and research activities, the Lisbon strategy and the knowledge-based society, the formation of the European Research Area and the initiatives related to it, especially for international co-operation.
The lecture will be given in the Slovenian language and will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Potočnik which will be moderated by Zijad Bećirović and Bakhtyar Aljaf.
Simultaneous interpretation into English language will be provided.
