"BRČKO DISTRICT:
THE BEST PART OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA"
which will be delivered by
Dr. Dragan Pajić
Mayor of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The lecture will be held on Tuesday, 6 July 2010, at 16.00 h
in the Auditorium of Center Evropa at Dalmatinova 4 in Ljubljana.
Mayor of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Dragan Pajić will present the Brčko District as an independent unit of Bosnia and Herzegovina with its own assembly and government, presided by the mayor. Dr. Pajić is member of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) headed by Milorad Dodik.
The Brčko District of BiH is economically and politically the most prosperous part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is also very attractive for foreign investments. Slovenian companies have expressed strong interest in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus in September last year the University of Ljubljana signed a letter of intent with the Government of the Brčko District on a joint project of establishing the University of Brčko.
The Brčko District was established on 8 March 2000 on the basis of the decision of the international arbitration. So far it has proven to be the International Community's most successful project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The lecture will be delivered in the Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian languages and will be followed by a discussion with the guest lecturer which will be moderated by Zijad Bećirović.
Attendance is free of charge. Please confirm your participation at telephone number (01) 430 15 33 or at ifimes@ifimes.org
The realisation of the event in Center Evropa was enabled by Government Communication Office and European Commission Representation in Slovenia.
