Vice-President of Royal Caribbean Cruises visits IFIMES
LJUBLJANA, 11 September 2015 - Director of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) Zijad Bećirović, received the Vice-President of Royal Caribbean Cruises from Miami, John F. Tercek.
Royal Caribbean Cruises is the world's second largest operator of cruise ships, and has been for some time successfully cooperating with the Municipality of Koper, and the Mayor Boris Popovič. Royal Caribbean Cruises wants to step up the cooperation with Slovenia, and bring in as many passengers as possible. To make this happen the successful cooperation with the Municipality of Koper is not enough. What is needed is the inclusion of additional tourist services of the complete tourist sector in Slovenia, participation of other industries, and the support of the state as well.
In a lengthy conversation the interlocutors exchanged views on current developments in the world focusing on the recession and security, topics of utmost importance for the tourist industry.
