entitled

Relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran in the light of the war in Yemen

on Thursday, 17 October 2019 at 16.00 h,

Grand Hotel Union Business, hall »Orchid«, Miklošičeva 3, Ljubljana.

The war in Yemen has led to terrible war devastation and starvation of the population. There has been a new clash of rival regional powers - the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Disagreements between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have also deepened. Can the superpowers find a solution to the war in Yemen, along with domestic actors and regional powers? The question is will the war in Yemen have a winner at all? Can Saudi Arabia and Iran find a solution to the war in Yemen?

These important questions will be discussed by our guests:

  • Dr. Jožef Kunič, former Slovene Ambassador to Iran and France, honorable president of Slovene Association for International Relations (SDMO),
  • Prof. Dr. Esad Prohić, former Croatia Ambassador to Iran,
  • Bakhatyar Aljaf, director of IFIMES,
  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Primož Šterbenc, University of Primorska, Koper/Capodistria.

The round table and the discussion will be in Slovene and Croatian moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Zijad Bećirović, director of IFIMES.
