In the framework of the "Slovenia and the West Balkans" lecture cycle
the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES)
invites You kindly to the round table
entitled
Slovenia and the West Balkans – the state of regional economies and their prospects
which will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, 2014, at 16.00 h
in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.
We are approaching 2015. In most of the West Balkan states recent wars ended twenty years ago. Comparison with post World War II Europe would hypothetically place the region back in 1965 when European countries were fully rebuilt and their economies rapidly developing. However, today the West Balkans is in a worse situation than it was before the disintegration of former Yugoslavia. What is the state of economy in Slovenia and the whole Western Balkan region? What are Slovenia's and West Balkans' economic prospects? What role do their governments and the European Union play in the development of the region?
Those and many other issues will be discussed at the round table by the following experts:
The round table will be held in the Slovenian language and moderated by Zijad Bećirović.

Attendance is free of charge. Please confirm your participation at telephone number (01) 430 15 33 or at ifimes@ifimes.org.
