LJUBLJANA, 21 December – Directors of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) Bakhatyar Aljaf and Zijad Bećirović today received the head of European Commission Representation in Slovenia Mihela Zupančič.
During the lengthy conversation they exchanged views of the current events in the EU and devoted special attention to the situation in the West Balkans and the Middle East. Those are also the main areas of researches carried out by the IFIMES Institute. IFIMES directors presented the activities of the Institute and new projects planned for the next year, whereby stress will be laid on the West Balkans where the Institute will be active on the projects related to fighting organised crime and corruption.
At the end of the meeting IFIMES directors thanked the head of EC Representation in Slovenia Mihela Zupančič forgood co-operation and presented her a special award of the Institute.
