invite you kindly to the lecture and discussion entitled
Refugees, migrants and Europe
which will be held on Tuesday, 24 November 2015 at 16.00 h
in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.
In the introductory lecture different aspects of migrations and the underlying historical, economic and political reasons will be presented by professor Dr. Anđelko Milardović, an expert on politology and Director of the Institute for European and Globalization Studies in Zagreb, scientific advisor at the Institute for Migrations and Ethnic Studies in Zagreb, the author of several publications on migration, and the initiator and co-author of the Split Declaration that was adopted in view of the humanitarian crisis in October 2015. Directors of the IFIMES International Institute Bakhtyar Aljaf and Zijad Bećirović will also participate in the discussion as experts on the Middle East and Balkan regions. The speakers will try to answer the question of what the refugee crisis means for Europe and whether it can lead to reforming of the European Union and its identity.
The discussion will be held in the Slovenian/Croatian languages and will be moderated by Tomaž Zalaznik.
