In the framework of the “Slovenia and the EU” lecture cycle The International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) invites You kindly to take part at the round table entitled How the independent and sovereign Republic of Slovenia was formed - 30 years later on Friday, 19 June 2020, at 18.00, in the "Orchid" hall of the uHotel, (ex Grand Hotel Union Business), Miklošičeva cesta 3, Ljubljana.
The year 1990 represents a milestone in the development of democracy in Slovenia. Intensive political changes led to the introduction of a multi-party system, the first democratic elections and the first Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which together with other political and social structures carried out the process of independence. How do we see this process 30 years later, what path has Slovenia taken during this time? What is the future of Slovenia?
At the round table we will remember these events together with our guests:
The round table, which will be held in Slovene, will be moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Zijad Bećirović, Director of IFIMES.
